The West Yellowstone School District will be holding a mail ballot election on May 2, 2017. Mail ballots will be mailed, in there entirety, on one date to be determined between April 12, 2017 through April 17, 2017.
The Board of Trustees for the West Yellowstone School District No. 69, of Gallatin County, State of Montana, will hold the Annual Regular School Election by mail ballot on Tuesday, the 2nd day of May, 2017. Voting will end at 8:00 p.m. on Election Day. The designated place of deposit will be located at Election Offices, 311 West Main, Room 210, Bozeman, MT 59715. The purpose of the election is to: Elect two (2) trustees for a three-year term, or as otherwise designated. Seek approval to impose a Building Reserve Fund Levy in the amount of thirty-six thousand dollars ($36,000) per year for five years (5) and being approximately 3.13 mills, for a total amount of one hundred eighty thousand dollars ($180,000), for the purpose of building repairs, renovations, grounds maintenance and equipment for the buildings owned by the West Yellowstone School District. Passage of this proposal will result in an annual tax increase of approximately $4.22 on a home with an assessed market value of $100,000 and an annual tax increase of approximately $8.45 on a home with an assessed market value of $200,000. If it is later determined that any portion of the election is not required, the Board of Trustees authorizes Charlotte Mills, Gallatin County Election Administrator, to cancel that portion of the election in accordance with 13-1-304 and 20-3-313, MCA.
