Kudos...

A hearty well done goes out to the students who participated in the recent Science Bowl in Billings this past weekend! Mrs. Wilson revived the program and got 10 students down in JH and HS to participate. Glad to see the program back and get to practicing for next year!

Science CRT testing

It is almost that time again for standardized testing. We will be administering our Science CRT tests to 10th and 8th grades beginning on Monday the 13th and continuing through the 16th. You play an important part in helping students give their best performance on this important test.

Even though this assessment is a snapshot - one single perspective - it is important that our students have every advantage to do thier very best. There are many ways in which you can help your child put his/her best foot forward. The following can help set our students up for success.

The night before: make sure your child goes to bed on time so they are well rested. Keep your routine as normal as possible. Be positive and confident in the fact that you know your child will do his/her best. Plan ahead to avoid conflicts with the testing schedule.

The morning of: Get up a few minutes early to avoid rushing and that your child arrives at school on time. Have your child eat a nutritious breakfast. There is a strong correlation between eating breakfast and memory and cognitive function.

After the test: Talk to your child about her/his feelings about the test. Discuss what was easy and what was hard, discuss what they learned. Explain that performance on a test does not define him/her as a person.

Thank you for your continued support and involvment in your child's education. Together we can make a difference!

Sincerely,

Brian Smith
